Artemis’ Tarot Take on Juno in Sagittarius– Cards: 7 of Wands, Ace of Wands, The Moon
Phew, time to make our way out of the fucking underworld when it comes to relationships. 7 of Wands right off the bat. Scorpio really did a number on our Queen Bee (not to be confused with Queen Beyonce, although “Lemonade” was definitely Juno inspired). In the sign of the Scorpion for the majority of 2016, she forced us to see the unmasked face of our relationships (in the most manipulative of ways, of course – she loves a mind game). We found out how important it is to share deep values, and we learned how tremendous of an alchemical transformation love and partnership bring to us. Juno has now clawed her way out of Scorpio; fallen Queen no more and ready to tackle her destiny. In Saggo, she is adventurous and daring, and she is ready to be reckless in order to go the distance for love.
For those of you who might not be aware, Juno, the “soulmate” asteroid, rules over commitment, our idea of the “perfect partner,” how we deal with jealousy, marriage, how we choose partners, manipulation and sacrifice. During this particular transit, Juno will conjunct the New Moon in Sagittarius and eventually run into Daddy Saturn, who is instrumental with karmic cycles (and who is currently hovering at around 17 degrees Sagittarius).
Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, who is king of expansion and opportunity. Has a door opened for you? Have the pieces all lined up, and you’re finally able to leave the place that has had you chained for so long? So there’s another thing – Juno will be mixing energies with her husband, Jupiter. Ace of Wands. That means there is alchemy in the air, darlings, and they sky is the limit. This is a very sexy placement for Juno because she gets to learn a very important lesson; freedom and commitment can go hand in hand. We are ready to be with those that give us passion – vision – fire, and essentially make serious musings on our personal philosophies on partnership. It seems this transit has a lot of heavy karma attached to it, and as Juno gets closer to Saturn – our relationship choices we made in it’s earlier degrees will receive the scrutiny of Saturn. With Uranus in Aries, this transit begs for you to make a radical choice in love and relationships – something powered by your highest ideals. So yeah, either fucking do the thing or get beat down by Saturn pretty soon after. Essentially Juno is demanding some bravery right now. Can you muster it?
Oh but she’ll reward you so sweetly! For those of us who follow our intuition (The Moon), we will be blessed with a sexy breath of fresh air coming into our love lives. She will ignite passion. If you can work with this energy instead of working against it, it will give you the right arrangements for an adventurous, exhilarating romantic life. Spontenuity will become quite the thing during this transit. Expect grand romantic gestures (mmm). This transit also suggests a lot of getting up and going out and actually doing shit together. Long distance trips? I also see a lot of positive energy for those of you in long distance relationships.
Funny that this minor planet will conjunct the New Moon and I also pulled The Moon card in this reading. This must mean pay very close attention to the events surrounding that New Moon that pertain to Juno related energy. She is an indication of a lot of unconscious forces at work – things ancient and out of our control. It is also a sign of extreme transformation, and the Ace of Wands appearing like a match in the middle of the reading sets everything into a glorious blaze. Aces mean YES, which gives us another degree of affirmation and urgency to this energy. We just can’t wait. It’s so fucking exciting. Are we there yet? Whatever has come for us, it will light things on fire if we are willing – brave enough – to give of ourselves, wholly, as the fuel. Get out there, make your moves, and trust your intuition, says The Moon, you are receiving ripples from the future.
Helios’ Astrological Angle on Juno in Sagittarius– Ah, the end of the year. I love this season, and not because of the Holidays… No, because at the end of the year we get these glorious mashups of different songs and videos- Different clips and snippets, rearranged and cobbled together in a new form to tell a bigger, greater story different from any that the songs told on their own. The mashups give me perspective; help me get a sense of the overall form and underlying feel of the year, told in our most popular songs. There are always common elements (for one, there’s A LOT of Arianna Grande), but in the ones that have come out so far, the underlying theme is… A deep and abiding pain, a longing for something long gone. These are the songs of people who are hurting, desperately reaching out in the dark for a hand to hold. These are the stories of our year.
This is due in no small part to the long, grinding trip that was Juno in Scorpio. The pain you incurred during that ride was from holding on to old dreams and hopes from Juno in Libra. You couldn’t quite give up on the promise she whispered in your ear, and you figured that if you just held out through the gauntlet, you would get your reward. Well, the gauntlet is over, and your reward is that you get to release your burden. You can give it up- You don’t have to hold on any longer. All you have to do is step out into the light and leave it right there at the gate. Reading these words, you realize that you are ready to let go, to step out, lighter and unburdened. Don’t look back, you have more ahead of you than the pain or false promises behind you.
Juno rules partnerships, its true- but she is about far more than the bonds that connect the people of this world. Her function is also for you to sit enthroned in your own power- That’s why this transit is so tricky. Sagittarius is all about meaning and the grand quest for it. Too often, Juno takes this as an invitation to burn down her life and find meaning in someone else- and too often, these partnerships turn toxic, and the one who risked it all winds up high and dry. Still, the promise of a fresh start is so alluring… will you be able to resist that call? More importantly, will you regret not taking the chance?
Juno cannot resist Sagittarius’ allure. It is the sign of her husband, Jupiter. For better or worse, she loves him (much to both of their chagrin!) and for good reason: Sagittarius is free. Sagittarius stands tall, in its own power. No one has any hold on a Sagittarius that they don’t themselves allow. More than anything else, Sagittarius offers the rarest gift of all- Hope. That great, terrible, most audacious and devastating emotion; What allows us to suffer through any torture, what keeps us going, and the vision we cling to in our darkest moments. Sagittarius is heaven, the reward. Sagittarius is where our chains are broken. Sagittarius is Victory. How could she not love him? Seek not these qualities in others, but seek them in your reflection.
Believe in yourself for once. Dare greatly.
