New Moon in Libra- Fulcrum

“…Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold…” –W.B. Yeats

Effective Date: October 20th, 2017

Helios’ Astrological Angle for the New Moon in Libra– Ah, the New Moon in Libra- the Midpoint of the year. At the New Moon in Aries, the start of the astrological year, we are energized; at the bottom of a tall mountain and ready to scale it. We say to ourselves “Fuck yeah, I’ve got this!”. Then we hit road bumps, things don’t go as planned- We lose our resolve and optimism. The Libra New Moon is the dip in our energy, we need to rest and recharge. Things seem… different than they were before- You gain a new perspective. Sure, you’re not at the summit yet, and you wonder if you should go back down or keep going. Well, this is where you have to make that choice, and it’s not one that anyone else can make for you- Push on or give up. Which is it going to be?

The Sun & Moon, Mars, Saturn, Chiron, and Uranus– Okay, so first off it’s not a Mercury Retrograde, no matter how much it feels like one. What you are noticing is a major buildup in an area of the stars called the Via Combusta, or the Burning Way. All the planets in this zone will have it hard, and we will have a hard time working with them. It can feel like a car crash that causes a traffic jam and you get stuck in it for hours. You will get frustrated and will be conscious of how much progress you are not making, as the delays and walls you run up against begin to take their toll. It will eat at you, and you will wait for the other shoe to drop. Libra’s imagery is one of balance, and while you are balanced at this moment, equilibrium is not a state that you can truly maintain. True balance, where all things are equal, is wonderful for a moment, a feeling of true peace and relaxation- but if it goes on for much longer than that moment it becomes indolence and the feeling of being stuck in the doldrums. If you seek progress and forward momentum, don’t fall into the beautiful trap that balance can be.

This is going to be a time where you are tense and anxious. Even though it is Libra season, time of attachments and social links, your gut instinct will be to go it alone, without any help. You will feel like you cannot trust anyone, and that you need to disassociate for your own good- This is a recipe for disaster. This is not a time for you to go it alone. Libra is a social sign after all- just make sure your circle is full of the right people. The last thing in this world you want is to exacerbate the feeling of being alone surrounded by “friends”.

(Minor Planets used: Eris, Sedna, Quaoar, Haumea, Ixion, Chaos, Manwe, Pholus, Bienor, Nemesis, Industria, Asclepius, Pandora, Bacchus)

Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter– I wish I had better news for you guys here. You are going to be dealing with a lot of hateful, negative, self-destructive thoughts and feelings, and the challenge will be not to act on them. It will be even harder not to ignore them and unconsciously take them out on other people in the interactions you have with them. You will feel like your mind is under attack from within. You will come to realize that there is a part of you that identifies with these thoughts and feelings, but there is another part of you that violently rejects them- both parts are YOU. You are changing as a person, and this is where you realize it. The disconnect is between what you have integrated into the new you, and what you are rejecting, and that is causing you strain and cognitive dissonance. This is a time of discernment, where you define who you are and what you are becoming. Choose wisely.

(Minor Planets used: Varuna, Typhon, Nessus, Crantor, Elatus, Thereus, Okyrhoe, Hebe, Hekate, Siwa, Orpheus, Sphinx, Achilles, Apophis)

Neptune and Pluto– So these guys are weird. They’re the group of loners and misfits at a dance, hugging a wall and saying they hate being there but deep down they are still desperate for attention, wishing someone would ask them to dance with them. You have been that loner before, and so you know how it feels. You both want to be left alone and want to be included in the daily lives of others at the same time. The easy answer to this paradox is of course that you want to be with the RIGHT people, and that is NOT who you are with right now. See who is good for you and who you have outgrown, and adjust your circle accordingly.

This detachment is its own boon however- it allows you a new perspective, and to see more clearly. You understand what has brought you to this point, and where you want to go next- What is needed is a way to get there. It is time to plan and put things into motion that get you to your next level. You understand how this game is played, and I promise you that you can win it all. It will take sacrifice, determination, and diligence, as well as a real sense of self-knowledge. If you are to truly pull this off, you need to secure in who you are, and what it is that you want from your life- and make no mistake, you will be tested in several ways, but that is a problem for Scorpio Season and Saturn in Capricorn….

(Minor Planets used: Deucalion, Astraea, Hygiea, Kassandra, Lachesis, Arachne, Phaethon, Itokawa, Persephone)
