Eros in Pisces: Slippery When Wet

“Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love. We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change. the world softens when we soften. The world loves us when we choose to love the world.” – Marianne Williamson

Effective Dates: April 1st- May 23rd, 2018

Helios’ Astrological Angle on Eros in Pisces– Forgive me father, for I have sinned… and I loved every wet, sticky minute of it! And there’s more where that came from with Eros- the God of Passion, Lust and Erotic Love moving into the sultry sign of Pisces.

So what does everyone’s favorite Cassanova god want with us this time? Eros is considered very well-placed in Pisces, as the two fit each other’s themes nicely. Eros rules passion, and Pisces rules the highest, most sublime bliss imaginable. Sure, this transit lacks the kinkiness of Eros in Aquarius or the raw lust of Eros in Aries– but the truth is once Eros gets to Pisces after conquering all the other signs, he aims to show us that we don’t need the gimmicks or tricks that he needed elsewhere. Eros in Pisces is a stripped-down experience and one that leaves us quite vulnerable. This is an Eros who has explored the full length and breadth of his passions, and followed where his heart lead him- Now he comes home, full but needing completion: What Pisces does best.

While Eros is in Pisces, he will urge you to explore the depths of your emotions- This means that you will have to be brave and vulnerable, at the same time; Naked yet unafraid, bold but tender. Done with a loving partner, this has the potential to truly deepen the bond between you, forging a real connection that transcends the facades we wear. This requires honesty, first and foremost, and trust. However, if you are single, you can still experience this transit- You will be challenged to deepen the relationship with yourself and get out from under the masks you use to hide from yourself. After all, self-love can sometimes be the most satisfying love there is!

It’s not all rainbows, kittens, and sunshine, though; One downside of Pisces is its susceptibility to feelings of guilt and shame- And that goes double when Eros comes to call. You may feel incredibly guilty for simply taking time to distract yourself from the sight of your world burning down around you or enjoying simple pleasures, when in reality you need the break, in order to refocus and recenter, allowing you to better deal with the problems that you face in a healthy manner. If you give in to the guilt and shame, then you will eventually wind up in the middle of a meltdown due to the internal pressures you are placing upon yourself. You are subconsciously setting yourself up to fail by holding yourself to an unreasonable and unreachable standard. When you feel the feelings of guilt and shame come up, ask yourself if it is really guilt that you are feeling, or are you instead subconsciously trying to avoid the very emotional exploration that Eros is trying to push you towards?

Take this opportunity to truly relax. Use the time that Eros swims through Pisces to restore your soul and rebuild your spirit. To do that, however, you need to work the real gift of Pisces- Surrender. You might feel as though you are dragging your feet through this life, worn weary by the weight of the world on your shoulders. This typically comes down to a burden that you have taken on and feel that you must shoulder simply because it is your responsibility- The good news is that you have a chance, with this transit, to just let it fall away and leave it behind. You can surrender your burden to Eros, and allow him to fill the hole the pain left with passion and Joie de vivre instead. You may feel that this is somehow wrong or cheating, but is it also not wrong to have your life mortgaged away without your consent?

Let go; Swim with the spirit of Pisces and surrender to Eros….
