“Only our concept of time makes it possible for us to speak of the Day of Judgement by that name; in reality, it is a constant court in perpetual session.” – Franz Kafka
Helios’ Astrological Angle on the New Moon in Aries- God, Artemis would love this; The Apocalypse has come to call, and here I am using a Kafka quote- The irony. Regardless of whether or not the combination of the coordinated military action and Chiron moving into Aries launches us into the final showdown of WWIII, this Moon was always going to matter, and it was always going to shove us under the microscope to see how we measured up. This Lunation is going to have one particular standout star, the reclusive Rhadamanthus! *grand flourish*
So while we wait with baited breath to see if we are doomed to die a fiery death, let’s pretend that we have a future, shall we?
The Sun & Moon, Uranus, and Chiron– First off, this is not the chart of an ending; This is, as insane as it sounds, a new beginning. Aries has never ended anything, and a New Moon where Klotho (the weaver of time, specifically ruling over the beginnings and initiation of events) is a star doesn’t exactly bode for the end of the world. No, we are in a horrific New Age, borne into being on bad decisions and following our worst impulses (Ixion) where we play with the fate of the world, held in place by the thinnest thread imaginable (Damocles). The macrocosm of the world’s governments engaging in their pissing match is the mirror opposite of the people on the ground- This brinksmanship is something that no one wants, not really. After all, at the end of the day don’t we all just want to be left alone?
Now, instead of living our lives normally, we are gripped by fears, both real and imagined. Now, Fear can be an incredible ally- when we are afraid we are more alert, more engaged with the world, and the clarity of the knife’s edge can save us from certain defeat when we would be overtaken due to carelessness… but Fear also makes us dumb– when we are afraid our instincts lie to us, and common sense flies out the window. This is why first responders and soldiers train, knowing that the instruction and teaching could be the difference between life and death; You are going to have to draw on all of the experience of your life so far to keep from letting the fear take you under and claim you as a victim.
This is a test, and you cannot afford to fail. Not this time.
Mercury and Saturn- So what is it that you are afraid of right now? Silly question Helios, the answer is obviously everything- But what is causing the fear to grip you so tightly? Well, you’re not going to like the answer…. You are the problem here, not the world. Specifically, your attachments, and one in particular- You have to detach from the end result of it all. I know this is an uncomfortable thought, but it is one that we must confront: For you to reach your true heroic potential you must lose the goal you hold closest to you. Your rigid devotion to it at the cost of making authentic choices in the here and now will end up robbing you of what you want most before you ever get the chance to see it come to pass. Even more so, you have to be willing to take yourself out of the role of Hero to truly become one.
In the upcoming Avenger’s movie, Infinity War, we are going to see this in action with Captain America, or as he is about to be known- Nomad. Cap loves his country, and he fights for Truth, Justice and the American Way at the cost of everything- even his own life and the lives of those he cares about. His strong moral compass leads his heart, but when he is forced to confront the truth that the America, the very world he fights so hard for, doesn’t exist in the way that he thinks it does, he abandons his name and title but continues the fight for what’s right without the guiding influence of his moral framework. He will be making the best choice available to him to do the most good possible, and that is what we must do now. It’s time for your mission to evolve.
Minor Planets used: Orcus, Lempo, Ceres, Pallas Athene, Vesta, Eros, Atropos, Persephone, Heracles, Hebe, Nessus, Orius, Siva
Mars and Neptune- Let’s get one thing out of the way; There is no shame in seeking your own bliss or healing, even if it means that you are not engaging in the greater work of the collective. Read that again, and keep reading it until you stop feeling the guilt for taking a second off to breathe. You are allowed to pursue your own interests, even if Rome burns around you. It is not for us, nor the cosmos, to question your priorities. Even if we do save this world from us, we still are going to have to live in it and make our lives worth living.
You are on the cusp of something great for yourself. Give yourself the chance and opportunity to pursue it- Just don’t abandon the work.
Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto- No matter what else happens, we will endure this time and this trial. We will wake up from this dream (or nightmare), and we will wake up renewed with a fresh sense of purpose. We will emerge, knowing full well the horrors within us, and without- and most importantly we will know how to defeat them once and for all if they poke their heads out of their hidey-holes again.
We have been in danger before, and this is a time we cannot afford to get wrong, not even a little bit. Even so, we have to keep on keeping on, and hold our heads up high in defiance of the fear that seeks to pull us under. The fear whispers in our ear, saying “You’re not right for this job, this time“, “You’re not good enough” “You don’t really think you can do this, do you?”. It is up to each of you to dig deep within yourself and rise up, bringing your inner hero into their full power. Leave that abusive relationship, have the courage to pursue your dreams, or just bring yourself to get out of your apartment. No matter what, we have to keep living– and these days, that is the most courageous act there is.
