“There are times when you don’t belong and you think you’re going to kill yourself. Once I went to a hotel. Later that night I made a plan… It would be wonderful to say you regretted it. It would be easy. But what does it mean? What does it mean to regret when you have no choice? It’s what you can bear. There it is. No-one’s going to forgive me. It was death. I chose life.” –Michael Cunningham
Effective Dates: October 3rd, 2019- April 25th, 2020
Helios’ Astrological Angle on Pluto Direct– Listen, can you hear that? That ringing in your ears, the pulse in your chest? A heightened sense of what matters, an increase in adrenaline. Colors seem bolder, edges seem sharper… everything is taken to the Nth degree. The fear and the rush… It’s funny how much clarity we get when we think we are about to die.
A common thread that I keep hearing from people, no matter how steeped in spiritual matters they are, is an overarching sense of fear. No wait, make that dread. There is a palpable sense that something major is coming in the near future that will devastate us all. No one has a concrete idea of what it can be, though there are certainly enough world-ending factors in play right now- Between hostile dictators and fascism rising in countries once considered bastions of freedom and tolerance, global fears of another financial meltdown, nuclear fears re-stoked with political maneuvering, daily scandals, and the looming spectre of global warming, just to name the big ones we currently have to deal with…. It all seems overwhelming, doesn’t it? In the face of so much terror, it just seems easier to throw in the towel and check out of the world- knowing that there is nothing any one person can do about it, so why bother, right?
Well, here’s the deal- You’re right, there is a lot coming, and the time we’re in right now absolutely sucks. There’s no mincing that or spinning it, we are in a dystopia compared to the last few generations. That hasn’t stopped people from standing up and trying to make a difference- All over the world, there is still hope. Pluto is out here, trying to stoke fear and take us off the path. He is a shadow that looms large, but his source is smaller than you might think. His power comes from the fear he presents. Will you let him terrify you back into submission?
The challenge during this time will be to not check out of this reality and crave death. I know how tempting it can be to give in to despair and despondency, and just languish in self-pity and self-doubt. Lord knows I’ve already had two suicide attempts this year and daily it is a struggle just to find a reason to continue living. My mind screams at me that life is not worth living, and checking out early will help me beat the traffic and save me a lot of hassle- but there is a deeper part of me that I rely on, an inner grit that knows my work isnt done, even though it kills me to keep going. Find that part of yourself, Heretics. Find your reason to keep going.
The question is, do you still want to save this world? Because this is the time to do it. You have a heroic spark of the divine within you, and it is up to you to use it right now to step up and make a difference or let it fizzle out. Pluto is the lord of hell, and we will experience great horrors before we see the end of his transit. Yes, worse than we have already seen, this story still hasn’t even reached its denouement yet.
You will be tempted to isolate yourself and pull back from this world, out of fear and as a survival tactic. That is absolutely the wrong decision. Pluto wants us divided and disengaged so we are easier to pick off. Unite with like-minded individuals to affect actual change. Put in the sweat equity. There are people out there who want to save this world but don’t know how. Neither do you, I’ll bet- but you all have ideas, and skills to pool. There is power in coming together, and it is the solution to beating both Pluto and the times we face. Find your tribe and get to work.
Even if you can’t save the world, its equally as important to save yourself. This is a time of destiny, and not everyone is meant to be some fated hero to take on evil and injustice. There have to be people to keep living their lives, keep things moving- that’s the reason the heroes are doing what they are, for the rest of their people. The greatest challenge right now is honestly putting yourself first and carving out a life for yourself. Living a happy life right now is an act of true rebellion, and it is beautiful. While we fight for our future, don’t forget to make a life worth fighting for, Heretics.
Listen, we haven’t lost this game yet. We still have some cards to play, and its time to make your move.
